When not writing, Alex is traveling around the world living a wild life of an adventurer and being the story collector.
And boy does she have stories.
Alex has lived in a haunted house, been on safari on the back of an elephant, jumped from an airplane, rode rapids, and taken many Harley trips. To get closer to the paranormal action of some of her series, she has spent time with Vodoun in New Orleans, medicine men in the Southwest, and a Shaman in the Amazon. She has been a cop, a sportswriter, an ostrich rider, and a partridge in a pear tree.
Spice up your life. Join Alex on her next amazing adventure...you will be so glad you did.
Now in the dangerous and archaic Old World, Denny finds herself in more trouble than usual. Suspicious covens, a secret society of witch hunters, and an ancient mystery threaten her at every turn. Only her demon knows for sure.
When Harper finds her husband in bed with another woman, she flies as far away from her crumbling life as she can. Although she signs up to volunteer for a village co-op in Egypt, a mishap lands her instead in the untamed wilds of South Africa. With new dangers lurking around every corner, Harper’s heart may not be the only thing that ends up broken, burned, and bruised.
She soon finds companionship in the company of a baby elephant who needs rescuing even more desperately than she does. But the unforgiving landscape and determined poachers could mean risking her own life to secure a better one for this new friend. Will Harper find a way to move to the rhythm of Africa? Or will this prove to be yet another off-beat adventure in her uncoordinated life?
And, most of all, why do her insides twirl whenever Sam draws near? For Harper, the answer could mean the difference between life and death, love or loneliness.
The already weak and battle-weary US is now under fire from an outside threat. Unable to defend themselves, they must turn to an old ally. Follow Dallas and her band to merry old England where they literally must rescue a princess to save the day.
If they aren't careful though, the zombie infestation could spread beyond English borders and seal both America's and England's fates forever. Will God save the King or is this Royal Roadblock the last stop for Dallas?
Losses, tragedies, raiders, and marauders? Been there, done that.
But uniformed soldiers with high tech weapons? Okay, that's different... and dangerous. Crap!
Her former crew, however, refuses to let her abandon them—not when they need her help now more than ever. If she is to save her sea-faring family, Quinn will need to don her pirate cap once more and stretch her still healing heart to the breaking point as she embarks on her most Cutthroat Crusade yet.
But will it be enough to stop the ocean from running red with Irish blood?

Delta Stevens has never shied away from a challenge before, but she’s never been up against such a talented crook either. With Megan away for an extended vacation, Delta throws herself into work full force, but will a sexy stranger ruin everything?
And now they're up against something far worse than zombies: crazed survivalists who want nothing more than to make America great again or so they say. Dallas soon realizes that their plan is far more insidious than anyone could have ever predicted.
It's a race against time. Only one group can win; the other is destined to Eat Asphalt.
Unfortunately, a new criminal syndicate bent on abusing children forces Delta back into the line of fire. Will walking the razor's edge between playing by the rules and going full-on vigilante prove too much to handle? Can she somehow find a way to take down these criminals, keep her job, and balance her rocky relationships... Or is that life Not in the Cards?
For every single wasted flesh-bag Dallas and her crew put down, twelve more rise to take its place like the most horrible kind of virus-infested hydra in the history of the universe. How much future could possibly be left for the few who’ve managed to escape its clutches?
Dallas doesn’t know, but she sure as hell wants to find out. Can she put the pedal to the metal and ride through the danger to find a safe haven that may or may not exist, or is the virus craving a nice juicy flank of lesbian ass to add to its ever growing empire?
Where ever Dallas is going, she better get there fast. It’s time to burn rubber, baby!
When Delta’s longtime friend and confidant, Connie, notices the crimes are patterned after her latest video game, Delta must step back and allow for player two to help take on the mysterious madman behind it.
Will Connie's genius combined with Delta's street-smarts be enough to uncover the serial killer’s plot before he can strike again? Or will it be game over for Delta Stevens, once and for all?
So when the Death Committee said that maybe they would give her another chance down there on the globe, she jumped at it. Which means now she’s got a job, ugh, and a fancy new name: Umbra Mortis, Death Collector extraordinaire.
It’s up to her to guide souls to the light and to convince the dead that they’ve actually hit the bricks and to leave the living alone. Some ghosts are pathetic, miserable hags, others are angry, and some are so f’d up Murphy doesn’t even know where to begin. And it probably doesn’t help that she’s got a short-fuse when it comes to entitled d-bag ghosty-things.
The Spanish Inquisition, the angry Queen, Moroccan pirates, and even those she once thought of as friends, all pursue her doggedly forcing her to delve even deeper into her tumultuous pirate persona.
Quinn still wants to figure out who she really is, but will she ever get the chance? Or will finding herself also mean finding her end?
On the way to the darker side of law enforcement, she meets Megan, a high class call girl who services men but craves the touch of a woman. And despite their completely different walks of life, Delta soon learns that this humble hooker holds the key to both the investigation and the longings of her own heart.
Now Delta much choose between a promise she made to her partner and her attraction to the one woman who can break through her gritty exterior to love what’s underneath. Love or duty? Life or death? Only Delta can decide.
Jessie’s life leaves a lot to be desired. As a teen lesbian whose parents refuse to love her for who she really is, Jessie spends a lot of time waiting for time to pass her by. So imagine her surprise when she finds out that someone loves her so much that she journeyed more than a thousand years into the future to find her.
This stranger from the past says that her soul mate is in trouble and that she needs Jessie to travel back in time to save her so that the two can meet again in the future and continue their timeless love story. It’s a lot to take in, but the twenty-first century holds nothing worth staying for, so Jessie eagerly agrees.
Soon she discovers that not only is the soul mate she has yet to meet in trouble but also an entire civilization. Can Jessie work together with her past self to help preserve a culture that time has since forgotten? And can she find a life filled with both love and meaning in the process?
Find out in this historical adventure that will have you believing in soul mates and the power of love in its purest form.
First there was the outbreak…
As the virus sweeps across the United States claiming more and more victims, butch firefighter Dallas was sure death was coming for her, too. Only it never did. Of course, that doesn’t mean its deranged, bloodthirsty horde won’t…
Dallas and a hodgepodge gang of new friends know that to survive the world, they must shut themselves off from it. But with constant misdirection from the government, a frightening decree of martial law, rogue military leaders, and—oh yeah—a roaming rove of hungry zombies, that task could prove pretty damned difficult.
Will they make it out with their lives and sanity in tact? Or will they end up as meals on wheels for a hungry zombie? Rev up your engines and prepare to put the pedal to the metal as Dallas and her gang do whatever it takes to Ride for Tomorrow.
Now Quinn must choose between continuing her high seas adventure or revealing a truth that could very well destroy both of her double lives and both of the women she’d give anything to protect. Is Quinn the woman she always thought she was, or has she become the pirate rogue she pretends to be? Will she choose love, honor, truth… or none of the above?
The stakes are higher than ever as Quinn, Grace, and the crew of the Malendroke come to the Queen’s rescue once more. And, this time, not everyone will get out alive.
Currently, I am working on a manuscript titled The Girl at the Front Desk, a book about a teenager who runs the front desk at a Senior Living Facility. As she becomes closer to the residents, she starts to realize how similar Senior Living residents are to Seniors in high school. Befriending an elderly man who believes he is a time traveler, a group of female veterans, and woman whose life resembles ground hog day, Brooke learns more about life from those at the end of theirs than from anyone else in the real world. Funny, irreverent, and thought-provoking, you'll never look at the elderly or teenagers the same again.
Who designed the covers?
My cover artist is Mallory Rock http://malloryrock.com/
She works very closely with each artist to create the best cover for the story.
How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
Most of this book comes from dealing with my father, who has dementia. As he would decline, we realized we have one of two choices: laugh or cry. My family chose to laugh. After meeting so many fascinating people in these homes, I thought it might be really fun to examine the impact they might have on a young girl trying to find herself.
Is there one person pass or present you would meet and why?
Actually, there are two...Queen Elizabeth I and Grace O'Malley, Pirate Queen. I teach world history and I am fascinated by the fact that Elizabeth managed to rule in a man's world for 40 years. She was a brilliant linguist, a fantastic strategist, and a bomb-diggity leader. She actually met Pirate Queen Grace O'Malley, who pirated the high seas until the age of 70. While they started out at enemies, Elizabeth so respected the way Grace lived life on her own terms, she lifted restrictions. These two women would be the BEST dinner companions, and I can practically hear them laughing now. I wrote my Plundered Series based on Grace O'Malley, and it is really big fun!
What book are you reading now?
The Compassionate Buddha. Marvel's X-Men. Wired for Story
Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?
I wrote a silly story in the fourth grade. When I got into high school, I had a great creative writing teacher who made me believe I had the ability. Sometimes, that's all it takes is for someone to believe in us, to point us in the right direction. as someone who has a book consulting business (awesomewritingcoach.com), I hope to pay forward all of the door opening many offered me. After 30 + books and 4 publishers, it's really fun helping others reach their goals and higher.
If any of your books was made into a film who would you like to play the lead?
Emily Blunt or Emma Watson. Am I the only person who thinks their accents aren't super sexy? They are both kick ass heroines.
Do you have a blog/website? If so what is it?
