I had never read anything by J.T. Geissinger, and let me tell you that I was blown away by this story. True love truly doesn't die in this all-consuming love story filled with heartache, tragedy, heartbreak, mystery, so much emotion and, believe it or not, comedy. Megan became a widow five years ago and has never gotten over losing her husband. She decides to move from Phoenix to Seaside, Oregon to make her and her late husband's dream of buying and running a Bed and Breakfast a reality. From the minute Megan sees local contractor, Theo Valentine, at the diner, she feels friction and a haunting connection but doesn't understand his hostility towards her. She becomes friends with the local realtor, Suzanne, and when those two are conversing, it's a laugh a minute. I laughed out loud so many times, my neighbors probably thought I was crazy. Theo was once a popular, happy, local high school star football player, but a terrible accident turned his world upside down, and mysteriously, left him without a voice. Despite his tragedy, Theo runs a successful business as a contractor but keeps his distance from people when not working. Somehow, fate keeps bringing them together. Megan and Theo grabbed my heart and didn't let go, up to the very end. My emotions were all over the place, and I couldn't stop the tears when the story was nearing the end because I really didn't know how it would turn out. This is a FANTASTIC story -- one I know I'll read again.

A hauntingly powerful love story in the tradition of The Notebook and The Time Traveler’s Wife.
True love never dies.
Megan and Cassidy were childhood sweethearts who thought they would be together forever. Fate had other plans. Soon after they were married, Cass’s life was tragically cut short. Still grieving her soul mate five years later, Megan moves to the small town of Seaside, Oregon, hoping to rebuild her life.
Her first night there, she meets the town recluse, Theo. Withdrawn, guarded, and mysteriously silent since a terrible accident left him scarred, Theo takes an instant and inexplicable dislike to Megan. But as their paths cross again and again, Megan becomes convinced there’s more to Theo than meets the eye. When she discovers the reason for his silence, his nightmares, and especially his pointed dislike, Megan becomes convinced of something far more astonishing.
Is a second chance at a once-in-a-lifetime love possible, or is a broken heart the cruelest kind of liar?
