For bank executive Joe Preston, his greatest mistake was leaving the love of his life when she needed him most. Now, all he wants is to make things right--and she won't have him. But when Annie's safety is threatened by a hacker determined to bring down her app,
Annie came from a middle class family. Her parents worked hard to provide for Annie and her sister. They always felt loved. Annie initially meets Joe when get mother worked for good family. They didn't really connect until college though. Joe was raised to be perfect. Or at least that's hote it felt. He parents are both successful in their own rights. Joe's father wants certain things for him and Joe usually caves in the hope that one day his father will be proud. On one fateful day both pf them make choices they believe are right that change the course of their lives forever.
This is a four star book for me. I really enjoyed the book overall, but there were times it seemed to drag a little. Dare I say it but some scenes and dialogue could have been cut and the book still would read well. The more books I read, the more I'm convinced there should be a new book category labeled "miscommunication". No, I am not saying communicating could have fixed all the angst in this book, but it would have definitely helped. On the other hand the two characters may not have become who they needed to if it wasn't for their decisions. This was a good book and I will definitely grab others by this author.
