In 2015 I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. It was also around this time that I became one of the founding members of a dramatic/erotic/dark roleplaying group on Twitter. It was wildly popular with both English and American followers. The writing helped me to overcome my depression by giving me an outlet to channel my thoughts into and not sit around worrying all day about things that would never happen. I took over responsibility for management of the group and responsibility for the development of our storylines. As well as playing at least ten different characters in the group ranging from an innocent virgin, bloodthirsty assassin and even a male lover. The success of the role-play spurred me on to writing novels.
I have a love of travelling and like to bring this to my stories to give them the air of reality. Surrendered Control, my first book released in November 2016, combines two of my favourite travel destinations. India is where I lived for eighteen months with my husband and two children. My young son was only six months old when we travelled there. It was a fabulous time for us all and they learnt so much about the differing cultures, as well as, much to my husband’s chagrin, spending lots of money in the silk shops. The Control series will feature lots of international travel.
I have always been an avid reader. Mainly murder mystery in the past but with Beautiful Bastard I discovered a whole new set of novels and I haven’t looked back since. I like my hero’s hot and hunky with a dirty mouth. My heroines demur but with spunk. And my books in a kick arse series.
The Touch of Snow
Selene Harper doesn’t know who is she and for that fact…what she is. If she touches someone, she hears all their intimate thoughts. Not so good when you want to start dating. And not so good when you are about to be thrown into the world of shape-shifting bears, wolves and wild cats.
Brayden Dillion is a shape-shifting snow leopard. He is the lead assassin of the Glacial Blood pack but has already been told that when he mates, he will be made a sentinel. That is the problem though. He cannot find his partner. Well, not until he goes to visit his mother and meets Selene.
The Touch of Snow is the first book in the new Glacial Blood series. A first paranormal book from the author, Anna Edwards. It tells the story of a voyage of discovery for both Selene and Brayden as they try to understand why they are what they are. The Glacial Blood world is full of intrigue, suspense and a family of dreams. It also features a secret that should remain untold.
Family isn’t always blood, it’s the people in your life that accept you for what you are.
It is Sonia Anderson’s first day on a new job; one that will change her life. The twenty-five-year-old bodyguard is well trained and highly recommended for the role of guarding Amy North, the pretty young girlfriend of billionaire, James North. What her physiological evaluations don’t show though is the secrets she hides about her life growing up. The scars she bears representative of a world out of her control.
Matthew Carter is James North’s long-standing bodyguard, he is sharp and a master as his trade. However, the ex MI5 agent was responsible for the death of a colleague, not just a colleague but also his wife. The revelations at the end of Misguided Control are explored, here, in Controlling Darkness.
Controlling Darkness is the fourth book from ‘The Control Series’, it tells the story of Matthew and Sonia and how the pain they both hold within them can become love.
The story features; fights, suspense, whips, and lots of love. You have been warned.

Are you ready to step inside the world of Control?
I’m very busy over the next few months as I’m hoping to release a book a month. My first, Controlling Darkness, is released on 30th May. I have a release party scheduled on that day which will include giveaways from New York Times bestsellers, Carrie Ann Ryan, Donna Grant and Lexi Blake. The link for the party is https://www.facebook.com/events/1490118421011734/. After that I have my first paranormal romance coming out on 27th June; it involves shifters connected as a family not by blood but by friendship. I’m excited for everyone to read this book as I’ve fallen in love with the story. At the end of July, I’m going to release Controlling Heritage, this is the fifth book in the Control Series, and a lot of secrets will be revealed. I’m so excited for the next few months.
Who designed the covers?
My book covers are all developed by my PA, Charity Hendry. She has worked in the field for many years now and is also Carrie Ann Ryan’s PA. We met online and have developed a very close friendship. She was the one that initially encouraged me to publish my books. I would be lost without her.
How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your life?
My tag line is International Romance, and I bring a lot of my travel experiences into my books. In Surrendered Control, Amy and James travel to India. This is a place I lived for eighteen months for my husband’s work, and you learn a lot of what I experienced then. Divided Control travels to Las Vegas. Misguided Control to Rome and Controlling Darkness will introduce you to France. I like to use my experiences in the books as I think it gives me realism to them. I can bring the smells of India to life for the reader with the descriptions that I write because I have been there.
About other aspects of the books, I also like to bring in some of my other personal experiences into the books. In Controlling Darkness, Sonia’s father is an alcoholic, and that impacts on her childhood. My late father suffered from the illness, and I’ve used some of my feelings in the book.
What book are you reading now?
I’m currently reading two books. I received an ARC of Ruckus from L J Shen yesterday and started that this morning. I’m also working my way through A Zavarelli’s Boston Underworld series. It’s incredibly dark and suspenseful. Just the way I like my books.
Is there one person past or present you would meet and why?
I’ve recently attended Apollycon book convention in Florida and got to meet so many authors that I worship including Kylie Scott, Jamie Maguire and Christina Lauren and others that I now call friends. It was a fantastic time and fulfilled a lot of my dreams. However, I’m a massive fan of the author Olivia Cunning, and I would love to sit down with her and have a good natter about her books. I just adore her ‘Sinners’ series.
If any of your books was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?
This is always a difficult question for me because I’m not a big movie fan so naming actors for me is difficult. I would naturally want someone that is hot and makes me drool when I meet him, but I would also want someone that can relate to the character a bit. Someone that has maybe suffered a bit in his life. Or experienced the inside of a BDSM. All I know is I want to be involved in the casting process and the filming of certain scenes.
Do you have a blog/website?
I don’t have a blog although I’m considering setting up a Facebook group to start blogging out reviews. I’ve discovered so many new authors since I started writing and many have been so helpful to me I just want to return the favor.
My website is www.authorannaedwards.com.
