So, now, she writes those romance novels she craved to see on the shelves all those years ago—the sassy heroines. The badass heroes. She penned her first romance novel back in 2012 and now, a few years later, she is an international author with 15 published books, in a wide range of contemporary romance genres (Paranormal, New Adult, Small town, Erotic Suspense… you name it!).
She lives in Portland, Maine, with an ever-growing brood of rescue animals: a kind of mean cat, a very mellow chihuahua, and a very not mellow lab puppy... oh yeah, there's a husband somewhere in that mix, too. She can usually be found hunched over her laptop in a cafe, guzzling gallons of coffee, and wearing fabulous (albeit sometimes impractical) shoes.

When Cameron Tripp's wife passed away from heart disease, he thought he'd never find love again. He certainly never would have expected a woman like Lydia Ryder to waltz into his life and awaken his dormant heart and libido. But despite his better judgment, Cam finds himself drawn to the vivacious and argumentative outsider. He quickly learns that, like him, she knows all about misplaced trust, heartbreak, and how quickly a family can fall apart if you let it.
As impassioned arguments morph into frenzied kisses, the two wonder if one week can ever be enough. Despite lacking a maternal side, can Lydia connect with his ten year old daughter? And when Cameron finally learns the truth behind Lydia's past career, the trust he worked so hard to build crumbles once again. With such doubts filling their minds, is there any hope that Lydia and Cameron will be able to start a new life together?
Every year on Father's Day, the Tripp family comes together for a celebration of their late dad's life. Their home is Maple Grove, New Hampshire, a charming and friendly community nestled in the heart of New England. A plentiful meal is served; memories are shared; and love overflows. But as wonderful as it is on the surface, each sibling is as different as night and day, and each has their own tale of loss and redemption. In this Maple Grove prequel, we meet each Cameron, Steve, Ronnie, Callie, and Noah (along with their mother, Marty) and see just how distinct a family can be, and how everyone has a battle in need of fighting.
A fallen angel with a bounty on her head, Monica's a succubus with an unquenchable craving for sex. With one pulse-pounding orgasm, she consumes just enough of a person's soul to keep her alive. Of course that means human lovers are off limits, and so she keeps her distance from Drew, the one mortal she actually cares about. But Drew's been missing since his escape from Hell, and now her boss Lucien has gone MIA. Chased by every assassin this side of immortality, Monica has no choice but to abandon her low profile and put her own eternal life in danger. . .
At times whimsical and laugh-out-loud funny (Jacquie D’Alessandro’s "Donny & Me?", Nikoo and Jim McGoldrick’s "Soul Mates for a Thousand Lifetimes"), at others poignant and bittersweet (Elf Ahearn’s "A Lost Friend, A Movie Star, A Man to Love Forever"), all unfailingly inspiring (Lisa Renée Jones’s "Unexpected Treasures"; Deanna Raybourn’s "Once in a Blue Moon"), each essay celebrates that most powerful and sacred of human bonds. Once an angel, now a demon, Monica is still a succubus with an insatiable desire for sex. The more the better. Soul-stealing orgasms beat out dealing with her broken heart any day of the week. Monica has no interest in being near both her ex-lover and his new girlfriend, so she's not thrilled when she's asked to join them in investigating a string of murders that are clearly beyond the pale. But when she sees that one of the victims has her Celtic family crest carved on his arm, she realizes she may finally find the answers to her past she's been searching for all these years. .
By day, Monica is a barista in a local café. It doesn't pay a lot but it puts her up close and personal with her sexy boss, Drew. Unfortunately that's as far as a succubus can go unless she wants to take his soul. Monica needs mind blowing sex to sustain her and she finds her victims every night at a local strip club where she's an exotic dancer. But when her powers begin to diminish and her fellow succubi start turning up dead, all bets are off. Monica realizes she's the one immortal who has a chance in hell of making things right. . .
Like most writers, I was writing long before I ever knew I would or could do this for a living. When I was a kid, I would write a weekly “newspaper” (I use that term loosely) of family events called the Katana Crier. I always loved writing. In school, creative writing was the class I excelled at and enjoyed the most. Yet, still… I never considered writing a book. Then, my senior year of college in my final semester, I needed 1 more elective to graduate. I chose a creative non-fiction class… And it forever changed my life. That professor, Heather Dune MacAdam is still a friend to this day. I graduated knowing I wanted to shift directions almost immediately upon entering the working world.
Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
In my Harrison Street Crew books, family is something you choose just as much as you’re born into. I’ve known for 13 years that it’s unlikely I will be able to have my own children due to medical reasons. And while adoption isn’t a topic I tackle within these books, the lesson that family extends beyond bloodlines is something I learned long ago.
What books have most influenced your life most?
Oh man… There are so many answers to this. On one hand, Shiloh was the first book that ever made me sob. Like, ugly crying all over the pages and my mom came up to check on me because she was so worried at the sound of my crying. That book taught me the importance of these books. The ones that give you all the feels and even though it hurts… Hurts as though your own soul was bleeding on the page… It’s a cathartic cry.
What book are you reading now?
After We Fall by Melanie Harlow. SO GOOD!
Absolutely! Here’s a little scene from my book, Enforcer (which is on sale for only .99 CENTS until September 25th!) === http://amzn.to/2wDSlLW
In this sizzling sneak peek, Ryan and Megan—who've been in each other's lives for a very long time—take their unresolved sexual tension to a daring new level.
“Tell me what you found out about my dad,” she said again.
Ryan spat into the sink, before moving to the toilet. “I'm about to pee, so unless you want to stand here and be subjected to that, I suggest you shut the door behind you.”
“You're disgusting.”
“Not denying that, sweetheart. But when a man's gotta take a leak, not much can stop him.”
Ryan took the moment to stare her down. Those hazel eyes shrewd and penetrating. “Have it your way,” he said, pulling his still hard dick out of his boxer briefs. Takes some maneuvering to piss with a stiff dick, but he managed just fine.
“Ugh,” she grunted, turning around.
"Ugh? Sweetheart, my dick's a lot of things, but it ain't nothing to say 'ugh' over.”
He finished up, moving to wash his hands and open the toothbrush she gave him. “I'll tell you about what I learned when Rig gives the okay—”
“You're such a pussy,” she said grabbing her own toothbrush and squeezing toothpaste onto it. “You act like such a tough guy all the time. But when it comes to making a decision or standing your ground, you always bow to your leader.”
Ryan rinsed his toothbrush before setting it on the sink as Megan did the same. The act was oddly intimate even though they'd never fucked.
“Look at it my way—”
“Oh, I've tried,” she said, putting her toothbrush back in its holder. “I just can't get my head that far up my ass, unfortunately.”
Ryan smirked. “You're funny.”
“Thank you. Now get out. I have to pee before you shower.”
“I showed you mine. Tit for tat.”
“I don't pee with my tits.”
“Tat for tat, then.”
She dipped her hands beneath her shorts, tugging them down just enough that he caught a glimpse of a dark, trimmed landing strip. In a quick movement, her shorts were down around her ankles, her legs spread revealing her swollen, needy button. It was pink and full and lush and fuck if he didn't want to wrap his lips around her clit and lick her until she screamed out his name.
“There you go,” she whispered. “Tat for tat. Now, unless you're finally ready to take me up on that that 21st birthday gift I asked for... get out.”
He stood a moment longer, mesmerized by her gorgeous body. Not only that though, her strength. Her tenacity. And most of all, her wit. He'd never in his life met a woman who could comeback with such clever quips. No one outside of Patrick was that funny.
He moved to the doorway, stopping the closing door with his foot. “And if I said yes?”
The mask she'd been wearing around him the last five years slipped, revealing a moment of honest vulnerability. “What?”
“What if I said yes—that I was ready to take you up on your 21st birthday offer? What would you say?”
The svelte curve of her neck tightened and he could see as she swallowed. See the way her throat worked against the dryness. And then, just like that, the mask was back. “As I said before, that ship sailed. Now get out.”
When he didn't move immediately, Megan raised her hand and slapped her palm down on his fresh stitches, shoving him out the door. Before she closed it behind him, she peeked through the crack, whispering, “This might take a while. I think I'll have to rub one out before your shower.” Then, she closed the door and locked it.
Titles are my EVEREST! I can write a whole book and never hit writer’s block. Then, the second I need to title it… I’m stuck for WEEKS! Usually, I need two things to get a working title: Wine. And friends.
Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
Just that you guys are awesome and thank you so much. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many of you in person and online and this is one of the most supportive communities I’ve ever worked in. I love connecting with readers and like-minded sassy booknerds (like me!). I always say, “you can’t surround yourself with negative people and expect a positive life.” Well, YOU are all the glass half full peeps and I LOVE it.
What do you want your legacy to be and why?
My legacy……… Hmmm. Honestly, I just want to live a good life. Be kind. Bring joy to people. And I want to rescue all the animals. Like, seriously. Without my husband, I would totally become that crazy old lady who hoarded homeless animals in her studio apartment!
If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?
In my book, Ex-Con (Also on sale for .99 Cents until Sept 25th!), Jason Momoa would make a fabulous Shane. And for Charlie, my heroine, I would love to see Rachelle Lefevre play her.
Do you have a blog/website?
Most definitely! I love blogging and sharing pictures of my dogs and favorite recipes:
