Being a creative person by nature who came into writing during a time in her life when the busy balance of career and family made her crave an escape into the world of romance, Kitty took that desire and turned it into a romantic series that offers the reader multidimensional characters.
In 2013, she published her first novel from The Stone Series, Sliding. Since then she has written 9 other novels in that series, among them Stoned, Second Chances, Surrender, Starting Over, and Silence. The final installment, Survivor will be released in 2016.
Because angst-ridden, plot-driven, women's contemporary romances mesmerize Kitty, Berry writes only in that genre. While each book in The Stone Series can stand alone with its own story, Berry’s intention was to create carry-over characters to satisfy the need of the reader to know more after each novel ends. As an avid reader herself, Kitty enjoys the feeling of being there with the characters inside the story and often times finds herself wanting to know more about them, missing them when the story is over, and becoming excited all over again when she discovers those familiar characters in subsequent novels. It is her hope that The Stone Series will do the same for her readers.
Kitty is married to a man she met in graduate school. She has three teenage boys, which makes her the only woman in a house of screaming sport fanatics! During any given evening you can find Kitty curled up in bed reading unless she is driving carpools, attending basketball games, Cross Country races or Track meets. When she is done coordinating the social lives of her three adolescent children (who have way better social lives than she does), Kitty plans to also enjoy traveling.
Dissection of Love is the second book in The Anatomy of Love Trilogy and features Dr. Wilson Anderson's best friend and colleague, Dr. Caine Cabrera, a urologist and force to be reckoned with in his field.
Caine Cabrera is a ladies man, a different flavor of the week in his bed every night and never one twice. But Caine’s life is in desperate need of a change. Unfortunately, only the love of the right woman will be able to make that happen. Lucky for him, Katherine Mills is about to crash into his world and cause Caine to question everything he's ever known about women, relationships, and love.
Katherine Mills is a model, she’s confident in her looks but timid when it comes to men until Caine Cabrera crosses her path and makes her understand her true value. Now, with her self-esteem restored, she must decide if a marriage to the wrong man is still what she deserves or if she should take a chance with the confident doctor and find out what it means to finally find love.
There’s only one problem, is Caine truly ready to open his heart and explore the Dissection of Love?
Will Damian Stone be a survivor or will the billionaire Alpha-Male succumb to his wounds, leaving his wife, family, and friends to grieve the loss of the glue that binds them all together?
* Please note that this is a Trilogy and the story will continue in Dissection of Love then conclude in Sutures of Love*
The first book (Anatomy of Love) focuses on the wealthy and handsome Dr. Wilson Anderson, the infamous Damian Stone's (The Stone Series) unlucky in love neurosurgeon.
Dr. Wilson Anderson is in control in the operating room, but when it comes to his love life, he's a mess. Will didn’t plan to be a single father, but that's been his reality since his college sweetheart walked out of the hospital hours after giving birth to their daughter. Since then, Will has focused on his role career and his role as a father, pushing aside his own desires as a man.
The single doctor wasn’t looking for love the night he found himself entrenched in a bachelorette party. He still can’t believe that he let the beautiful stranger talk him into going to a Gentleman’s Club, or that he woke up in a hotel room with only a note to remind him of their night of passion.
When it comes to matters of the heart, Will may not always have a steady hand, but his new nurse is about to steam up his operating room and reminded him of the fierce passion he's been lacking in his life.
Will is finally ready to open his heart and explore…The Anatomy of Love.
The Stone Series progresses in Silence (The Stone Series Book 9).
In Silence, Special Agent Graham King no longer works for the military but he is still recovering from his latest war wounds and those left behind from the woman who stole his heart in London. Now back in his hometown in Georgia, Graham finds himself lonely and missing Emory even though she is only a few miles away at Big Daddy’s ranch. He is longing for the promise of their budding romance when he comes face to face with his ex-sub/girlfriend and her new man. Unfortunately for Graham, his mind is slow moving in finishing that puzzle and before he has the chance to see his protégé for whom and what he really is, Graham is knee deep in trouble and taking Emory along with him.
Emory arrived in Georgia not long after Graham to be by her father’s side as Big Daddy recovered from a heart attack. She and Graham try to pick up where they left off but their secrets run deep and their emotional scars deeper still. Just as Graham is about to cut himself wide open and expose every last secret to the woman he finally admits to being in love with, his real nightmare begins. When Graham makes the mistake of allowing his brother to talk him into attending a party he’s thrown into events he never thought possible, events that Emory might not be able to forgive.
Is Emory strong enough to stand by Graham’s side when his character comes into question or will she run straight into danger in another man’s arms?

** This is a revised edition with a new cover*
Sliding, the first book of The Stone Series, is a story of young love as it develops over the years.
Brooklynn Taylor stands in front of her mirror, looking at her reflection. She is happily married to Tate Taylor, her adolescent crush, the wealthy and powerful music executive at Taylor Studios, Inc. Well, she was until tragedy struck and Tate fled to the West Coast under the disguise of business. Now she’s not sure about anything.
Brook is faced with a decision, she must make a choice. Sliding is the parallel tracking of two possible destinies, essentially, the classic what-if scenario. Little moments in time when we question which decision is right and which is wrong, both can change our lives forever, leading us down different avenues, times that are impossible to go back and change. Brook will enter into the center of two significantly different trajectories. The question is…which is the one that is meant for her?
Brook stands in front of a mirror in her Manhattan penthouse. She’s on her way to see Tate in California. He is the only man she has ever known, the only man she has ever loved, and Brook decides not to waste another minute of their lives. She rushes to make her flight.
While traveling, she listens to one of Tate’s infamous playlists, and it transports her back to their youth, back to the start of their relationship, back twenty five years, when the then popular jock, Tate Taylor asked her to dance for the first time.
Sliding lets the reader experience Brook and Tate’s coming of age as we witness their relationship while it evolves from adolescent innocence into a passionate and overwhelming romance.
But in life we all have choices to make and as the story continues we see Brook, again in front of that same mirror on that same fateful morning, only this time we see what happens when she isn’t in such a rush.
My most current news would be that I am currently releasing my 11th-13th books as a trilogy. The first book (Anatomy of Love) released on August 14th. Dissection of Love will release on October 2nd and Sutures of Love will release on November 12th.
Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
Dissection of Love will be available on October 2nd and the female lead, Katherine Mills was sexually abused by her step-father and kept silent. After leaving her home to escape him, she became a model in NYC and other older man talk her into believing that she was tainted goods who wasn’t worthy of love and fidelity. It isn’t until she meets Dr. Caine Cabrera that she understands what real love looks like. I guess the message I’d like readers to walk away with is, we are never defined by our past. We can overcome anything thrown in our paths if we have a strong support system that we utilize to help us heal.
How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
Some of my books have experiences from my past or things that I have lived through with friends or family but for the most part, everything you read of mine is all from my very vivid imagination. I try to do my research to be sure my writing is realistic as possible but it’s also fiction and the purpose of my writing is to entertain my readers. That being said, where it might be “realistic” it is dramatic. I write adult contemporary romance series with happily ever afters. My work is marketed toward women looking for an escape into a world of romance with high emotional stakes and naughty erotic twists where each heroine is attracted to a confident male who is anything but ordinary. The multidimensional alpha-males that seek a submissive woman in their bed but offer them a challenge in their lives will curl your toes with their passion right before they deliver an emotional punch that makes you cry. The characters are placed in dramatic worlds of wealth, power, seduction, dominance and submission. So, yeah, as realistic as contemporary romance can be.
Who designed the covers?
I did my own for The Stone Series but I am looking into having them professional done over. The Anatomy of Love Trilogy covers were done by Vanessa Kelly- FABC Formatting and Cover Designer. She’s also an author!
Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
I hate to see one of my stories come to an end. I love to read authors that carry over their characters from book to book, series to series and so I do the same.
When and why did you begin writing?
I started to write in 2013. My husband kept telling me that I should write because I read so much and I finally decided to listen to him. That’s not something that happens very often! I laughed it off for years but then after the 50 Shades craze when people were self-publishing like nuts, I thought what the hell and I wrote Sliding (The Stone Series Book 1). I finished and published it in July of 2013 but then did a complete revision with major plot changes in 2015. The Stone Series concluded with Survivor in 2016 and I began a new trilogy called Anatomy of Love. Angst-ridden, plot-driven, women's contemporary romances (Shayla Black, E.L. James, Maya Banks) have mesmerized me for years and fast-paced entertaining mysteries (Kate White) as well as witty “chick lit” (Jane Green, Sophie Kinsella, Jennifer Weiner, Marian Keyes) contributed to my desire to be a writer. I had found myself in the time of my life when the busy balance of career and family made me crave an escape into the world of romance. I took that desire and turned it into a romantic series that offers the reader multidimensional characters. The goal I have for my series is that it will engage the reader and offer them a fantasy world of characters and places where they can lose themselves for a few hours. It was my late mother’s desire of becoming a writer that prompted me to create a contemporary romantic series that I hope pulls the reader in and makes them become invested in the characters that I place in worlds of wealth, power, seduction, dominance and submission.
What book are you reading now?
I’m trying to market the Anatomy of Love Trilogy while writing a new stand-alone and working full time as a teacher. I have three teenage boys and the youngest is currently running cross country. With all of that, I can hardly find time to sleep but I do try to read a little here and there. Maybe I’ll start a new book for enjoyment later tonight.
If any of your books was made into a film who would you like to play the lead?
If The Stone Series was to be made into a film, I would have to have Ian Somerhalder be Damian Stone. If The Anatomy of Love Trilogy were made into a film, Dr. Wilson Anderson would be Jessie Pavelka, Dr. Caine Cabrera would be Kacey Carrig, and Dr. Jessie Holt would be Carmine Giovinazzo.
