I think I was meant to be a writer all my life, but I didn’t realize this until I was in my early twenties, and my best friend told me to write the book burning inside me. Even if she was the only one to read it, she wanted me to try. I did. I fell in love…and the rest is history ;)
Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
The Songbird Novels are all stories about understanding what real love looks like, and fighting for your dreams. I want people to read these books and be inspired by the romance, the music and the strength of the characters.
What books have most influenced your life most?
SO many!!! I think I’d be better to go with authors like Nora Roberts, Dee Henderson, Francine Rivers, Anna Cruise, Cambria Hebert. All of these authors have written books that have sucked me in, taught me something and most definitely inspired me!
Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?
All my life I’ve had stories in my head. I always used to play pretend as a kid, acting out the stories in my head and heart :)
Can you share a little of your current work with us?
I’m currently working on the last Chaos novella. This is a free story for all my newsletter subscribers.
I’m giving that to my readers in August. After that I’m taking the rest of the year off to work on my pen-name (Jordan Ford) stuff. But Melissa Pearl will be back in January 2018 with her first in a collection of romantic suspense novels :)
If your book was made into a film who would you like to play the lead?
I have a whole cast of characters picked!! But if I just focus on the first Songbird Novel - Fever - the role of Cole would be played by Henry Cavill and Ella would be played by Anna Kendrick :)
